Position Title: Trailer Technician

Position Summary

Valder’s Vehicles is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trailer Technician to join our growing team. The Trailer Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing components on a wide variety of trailers, including utility, dump, enclosed cargo, equipment, and recreational trailers. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer trailers are safe, reliable, and ready for the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform trailer inspections and preventative maintenance services.

• Diagnose and repair trailer electrical systems, lighting, wiring, and brake systems.

• Service wheel bearings, hubs, axles, suspension components, and tires.

• Install trailer accessories and upgrades, including hitches and towing equipment, trailer brake controllers, cargo management systems, lighting upgrades, and suspension enhancements.

• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.

• Inspect trailer frames, couplers, jacks, and safety equipment.

• Complete service work accurately and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Document repairs and communicate findings with service advisors and customers.

• Assist with trailer assembly and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new inventory.

Qualifications

Required

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to lift to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred

• Previous experience as a trailer technician, automotive technician, diesel technician, RV technician, or equipment mechanic.

• Experience with trailer brake systems, wiring, and suspension repairs.

• Welding and fabrication experience.

• Knowledge of trailer manufacturers and industry standards.

• DOT inspection experience.
